All Prospective Students MUST be Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in Good Standing with the State of Georgia prior to Registration and Class Completion. The Georgia State Exam requires an Active CNA Number to Register for the Certification Examination.
The Certified Medication Aide Course is a One Weekend (Saturday and Sunday) Immersive Program, 9am-5pm both days. Please visit our "CMA Course Information" page for more details.
YES! The Georgia State Department of Community Health mandates that all Certified Medication Aides (CMAs) must complete an In-Person Clinical Rotation supervised by a Registered Nurse to Check-Off and Sign the "Medication Administration Clinical Skills Checklist."
Also, Registered Nursing Professor will teach and demonstrate essential Skills and Information needed for the examination and employment.
YES! The Georgia State Department of Community Health requires a $25 Registry Fee to have your Name and New Certification Visible in the Georgia State Database. Although this fee is optional, most employers require this Registration to Verify your Certification for Employment.
Certified Medication Aides (CMAs) work in facilities such as Assisted Living and Long-Term Care.
Potentially. This is sometimes needed in order to serve and support the Healthcare Team. Please direct further questions to your employer for more clarification in your job role.
All Certified Medication Aides must be re-certified every two (2) years. Georgia Medication Aide offers Re-certification Registration and Examination. Please Contact Us for more Information!
YES! However, it is recommend that you work at least one (1) full year before accepting any travel opportunities and/or assignments.
No. Your new Certification is Non-Transferrable. All States have their own Medication Laws, therefore their own Jurisdictions. Students must be certified in their State of Employment.
